Happy Day-After-Halloween! What a fun day we had yesterday!
The day started off not so lovely with a crazy down-pour that lasted for hours! However, the temperature was wonderful so I propped open the back doors to the screened in porch and let the breeze fill the house. K and I spent the morning moving furniture and doing laundry. The house is finally feeling like home with everything unpacked, furniture in place, and things slowly going up on the walls.
Anyway, back to Halloween -- so the weather cleared in the early afternoon while K napped. At dinnertime one of K's new friends "H" and her Mom & Dad came over for dinner with us and then got all dressed up to head out. They were so excited!

K was a beautiful Bee Princess (complete with a wand, wings, and antennae). H was an adorable Little Red Riding Hood. Her costume was made by her Momma.
Hubby & I had decided we wanted to stay in our neighborhood so that we could use the opportunity to get to know some of our neighbors. Plus Hubby was SOOO excited to hand out candy to kiddos that came to our house (and scare the older ones). We loaded up the kiddos in our little wagon (thanks again Nana & Grandpa --- that wagon sure is getting a workout these days), and set out to have some fun and get some candy!

Off we go! Hubby went to the first couple houses with us so he could see his little princess figure out this whole "Trick or Treat" thing. She loved it from the get go!

By the time we got to the third house, she did not want to hold my hand anymore. She was heading straight to the door, ready for another piece of candy with her hand open. She did not want anyone to hold her bag, she did not want anyone to put the candy directly into her bag... she wanted the candy in her hand, she wanted to put her candy in her bag, and she wanted to keep tabs on that bag the whole time we were out. It was HILARIOUS!

Speaking of her bag -- totally vintage. Nana sent it to us with some other Halloween goodies, it actually used to be mine! How awesome! We will treasure that and use it for every Halloween from here on out!

We were out for a little over an hour. She did an amazing job. We weren't home five minutes and she was going through her loot. I think her favorite candy was Nerds. Not because I let her taste them but because she loved the way she could "Shake Shake" them.

All-in-all... it was a fantastic night. Nights like that - make me even that much more happy to be her Mommy. I love that little girl with my whole heart.
On that note... my next series of posts --- my 30 days of thankfulness. I think I'll start with my sweet pea. Bless you all!!
