30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 17: Scrapbooks

Today I am thankful for my scrapbooks and for the hobby of scrapbooking itself.  I've been scrapbooking now for the last 7 years.  I love to take pictures and put them together with the story behind them.  I also love sitting down with family or a friend and watching them enjoy my memories.  Unfortunately I don't get to spend a lot of time doing it, so I'm several years behind in my books, but that's okay - I just enjoy the time when I get it.

Scrapbooking gives me "me" time during naps or on Friday nights when hubby's consumed by a video game.  I love putting on some tunes and just letting the memories take me back to fun times and fun people.  Every time I take a picture now, I get excited that this fun memory will end up in a scrapbook someday to share with anyone who opens my book.

My mom and grandma also scrapbook, so it gives us something in common to do together (when we're close by) and something to share when we visit.  Not only do they appreciate the memories but they're also interested in the layouts and how I put the pages together.  This leads to even more quality time spent together and who doesn't love that?

Scrapbooking is not for everyone, and that's okay.  But I'm thankful that I have found something that I can be creative with and enjoy whenever the mood strikes.
