Just call me "Harriet Homeowner!"

Well folks, we're official Floridians! (Ok, ok - the driver's license still says Maryland, but still...) The hubby and I went to settlement on our new house today and we couldn't be happier. Let the fun begin!!

So we hit the ground running this afternoon. Hubby's working on the garage floor (since this is the ONE and ONLY time it will ever be completely empty). He's put down a degreaser of some sort and cleaned it. Tomorrow he'll be painting it. Can't wait to see it finished!

I got to work on the kitchen. We have white cabinets so I took the Clorox Clean-up spray to the inside of the drawers and cabinets. That stuff works WONDERS! Cabinets are just about ready for all our kitchen goodies to take over Monday!

New furniture comes tomorrow - our first brand new dining set! We also ordered a new couch with a matching chair & ottoman. That's going to mighty tempting to just sit on instead of unpack!

Miss "K" is handling the change really well so far. She was loving all the carpet. I kept catching her just rolling around on it. It's funny but the first box of stuff we moved in today was a box of her toys which are now dumped all over the living room floor - but hey, she's busy so we can be busy.

We finished out our first day in our new home by having a pizza picnic in our new kitchen floor. "K" loved it.

Well -- off to bed... another busy day of prep tomorrow.

I'm a Sunny Florida Mommy...

Well folks... Here goes nothing!

Where to start? Well, my name is Virginia. I'm a Stay-at-Home-Momma who just moved to the Orlando area last month. My daughter "K" is almost 18 months old and full of life. For the first year or so of K's life, we lived in Maryland -- close to family, close to friends, and where I had spent my entire life. I worked as an Elementary School teacher and K was in a great home daycare. Life was good.

Then my hubby got a great job opportunity down here in Sunny Florida and the rest is history... Talk about a major life-change!! So we sold our house in Maryland, packed up and headed south. I left my teaching job and have taken on the SAHM life. I have to be honest... I'm loving it. Now mind you, we're renting a little furnished condo right now waiting to settle on our new home, so life is still pretty temporary. However, life's about to get real pretty quick - we settle on our new Florida Home in a little more than 24 hours... and then the real fun begins!

Okay - back to the blog... so I've spent a lot of naptime checking out other blogs on fun things like scrapbooking, cooking,organizing, and parenting -- all the things I love. I found a lot of neat ideas and some really creative people to follow. I decided that I might have some things to add to this world wide web of ideas... I also thought this would be a great way for my family and friends back home in MD (that I miss so much) to keep up with what's going on with us.
