30 Days of Thankfulness - Day 12: Relaxing Weekends

Recently, I have really come to appreciate the value of a quiet, relaxing weekend.  So today, I am thankful for those weekends!

You know the kind: wake up without the alarm... lounge in your pjs... make a yummy breakfast... play with kiddo... read a book... sit and talk... bake something tasty... fiddle in the garage.. etc...

It's the kind of weekend where there's no agenda, nothing major you need to get to, where you just kind of look around and say: "What can I get myself into?" or "I think I'll just lay here and take a nap - because I can."  The square on the calendar is empty and you just chill.

Today, I am thankful for these weekends and I'm even more thankful that we're so lucky to be having one of those weekends right now!  Its so nice to rest and recoup from the business of the week.  Unfortunately we don't get them every week, which makes them that much more valuable when they do come around.  Basically, I am thankful for the blessing of rest today.  It won't last long.  Monday comes back, oh so quickly, but that's okay because by the end of that relaxing weekend, you feel recharged and ready to take on the world again.

One of our favorite things to do on a lazy weekend:
Make dinner on the grill & eat on the back porch - just because.
